Is your Market Place Leveraging Differences?

Atlanta, August 11, 2016 / -- On Wednesday, August 3, 2016 the Cox Communications Diversity & Inclusion Channels sponsored a speaker session with Dr. Martin N. Davidson, as he leads an informative discussion on the importance of Employee Resource Groups and the impact of diversity and inclusion on organizational results.

The speaker session was held on Cox Corporate Campus in Atlanta, located at 6305 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, Atlanta, GA 30328 in the , Dayton Room ABC – CCI Conference Center.

Dr. Davidson is the Johnson & Higgins Professor of Business Administration at the University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate School of Business. His thought leadership has changed how many leaders approach leadership and diversity. In his book, The End of Diversity as We Know It: Why Diversity Efforts Fail and How Leveraging Difference Can Succeed, he addressed how leveraging differences generates innovation, engagement, and business results.

I spoke to many attendee’s and they stated Dr. Davidson provided some great insights to Cox on maximizing D&I efforts but many said it takes time for a large organization to get to Leveraging the differences channel. Dr. Davidson notes, leveraging difference leaders take a realistic view of where and how difference helps and then drive that message through the organization with meticulous analysis, social adeptness, and the boundless energy that derives from doing work that really helps the organization do better and be better.
